Acoustic string, wind, and brass players:
If improvisation is new to you, here’s your chance to get started using familiar music basics in ways that allow for playful inspiration, imagination, and expression. No experience is necessary! We’ll be taking a general approach to improvisation that’s easy and intuitive, rather than style-based. Along the way, we’ll reference language, gesture, and everyday dramatic situations. Come as you are - no experience is necessary. It’s easy and fun!
If you’re a teacher, you’ll gain insight into how to help your students learn to create music of their own meaningfully and with expression.
COST: $45 plus ticket fee.
SFPS TEACHERS: Free, if you’re listed on your school’s website.
PLEASE NOTE: acoustic strings, woodwinds, brass, and voice only for this workshop. Participants only, no auditors.
