ALBUQUERQUE, NM: Join conductor and arts educator Oliver Prezant and master trumpeter Peter Bond for a fun and friendly family program where we’ll find out about all things trumpet! You’ll hear fanfares, bugle calls, and famous melodies from the orchestral and operatic repertoire played on historic and modern trumpets, and we’ll find out how trumpets work.
Along the way, Oliver will provide opportunities to explore elements of the music we’re hearing, and Peter will share stories about what it’s like to play in all kinds of ensembles, from drum and bugle corps, to the circus, to symphony orchestras and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra! At the end of the program we’ll see what it’s like to make up a fanfare, march, or melody of our own that Peter will play for us.
The program takes place on Sunday, September 29, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Robertson & Sons Violin Shop, 3201 Carlisle Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque.
